Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about studying abroad

What exactly does Themedpathway do?
We guide international students through every step of applying to universities abroad, from choosing the right program to securing your visa.
How much do your services cost?
Book a consultation directly with our team so we can review your academic profile, understand your goals, and guide you toward the best study-abroad options. University tuition, visa costs, third-party costs, and Themedpathway service terms are explained before you make any commitment.
Which countries can I study in?
We currently help students apply to universities in Bulgaria, Cyprus, Georgia, Latvia, Poland, Romania, and Spain. Programs span Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Business, Law, and Engineering — with EU-recognized degrees at affordable tuition rates.
What are the admission requirements?
Requirements vary by program and country, but generally include a high school diploma, English proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL or equivalent), and academic transcripts. Some countries (Bulgaria, Poland) require an entrance exam in Biology and Chemistry for medical programs. We help you understand the specific requirements for your chosen program.
Do I need to sit entrance exams to get in?
It depends on the country. Georgia and Spain are file-based with no entrance exam. Romania is file-based for non-EU applicants. Bulgaria and Poland typically require an entrance exam in Biology and Chemistry for medical programs. Latvia and Cyprus are application-based with possible interviews. We confirm the route for your chosen program before you apply.
Will my degree be globally recognised?
Yes. All our partner universities hold accreditation from the World Health Organization (WHO) and are listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS). Degrees are recognised across EU member states and are accepted for licensing exams such as USMLE (USA), PLAB (UK), AMC (Australia), and FMGE (India), subject to passing the relevant national exam.
Do I need to speak the local language to study there?
No. All our partner programs offer an English-taught track. You'll need to show basic English proficiency (most universities accept IELTS 5.5–6.0 or equivalent, and some offer their own English entrance test). Learning a few phrases of the local language is helpful for daily life, but it is not a requirement for your degree.
How long does the whole process take?
Typically 4–8 weeks from initial consultation to receiving your offer letter, depending on how quickly you can gather your documents. Once you have your offer, the student visa application usually takes a further 4–8 weeks. We guide you at every stage.
What documents do I need to apply?
The core documents are: (1) High school certificate and transcripts (notarised and apostilled), (2) Valid passport, (3) English proficiency certificate, (4) Passport-size photos, (5) A personal statement or motivation letter for some programs. Some Romanian routes also require a Europass CV, letter of intent, recommendation letter, and a psychological evaluation. We provide a personalised checklist.
Can I do residency or specialise after graduating?
Yes. Graduates from our partner programs are eligible to sit postgraduate medical licensing exams (USMLE, PLAB, AMC, FMGE) in their chosen country. Many graduates have completed residency programs in the UK, USA, Canada, India, and across Africa. The pathway varies by country, so we recommend confirming the specific requirements for where you plan to practise.

Is medicine in our supported countries the same quality as the UK or US?
The academic curriculum follows European Medical Education standards (Bologna Process) and is equivalent in scope and rigour to programs in the UK, USA, or Australia. The key differences are cost and entry requirements — not quality. Many graduates are now practising doctors in the UK, USA, Canada, and beyond.
